UChicago Job Enhancements
Effective November 1, 2006, pay adjustment requests, in addition to posting and classification requests, must be submitted via UChicago Jobs. Please do not send requests via email unless a requisition has also been submitted via UChicago Jobs. Pay adjustments based on an employee's change in hours should still be submitted to Wage & Salary Administration (Records) via a Personnel Action Form (PAF).
In anticipation of this change, UChicago Jobs has been modified. The amended "Action Requested" field now includes the additional drop down choice, "Salary Adjustments." To help you determine when to request the appropriate action (Vacancy, Reclass, New Position or Salary Adjustment), we have provided the attached definitions.
As a reminder, the Compensation Office will work with units to determine the appropriate action for the position under review. To ensure a smooth and efficient process, HR Administrators should provide all information needed to justify the request. When applicable, please enter the appropriate information in the amended "Employee Replaced, Reclassed or Salary Adjusted" and "Employee Replaced, Reclassed or Salary Adjusted ID" fields.
When applicable, please enter the requested information in three newly created fields: "Previous UHRM Job Title," "Previous Job Code" and "Reclass or Salary Adjustment Effective Date." Please ensure that the requested effective date is after the requisition submission date.
All other information needed to justify the requested action should be included as a note in the "Notes/History" tab. If you are uncertain of the appropriate outcome of a position review, the "Action Requested" field should remain blank.
